There is a saying that you should not look back because you are not travelling that way – but sometimes it is good to look in the rear view mirror and see how far you have come.
It also helps to check you are travelling in the right direction.

This time last year we had
only just embarked fully
on our Ingela’s journey.
A journey where East meets West and Art meets light.
A labour of love – a melding of traditional Japanese craftsmanship with a touch of linocut and exacting artistic flair to create a vibrant East-West fusion.
At the start of 2019 we were just starting to display our first definitive prints at our studio and gallery, Glengorm Castle
Throughout 2019 our collection grew. Kate Leney, our artist continued to experiments with designs and refining techniques.
Laima designed innovative and exciting frames to complement Kates’ prints and Steve brought the two together by hand-crafting the panels along with the latest but subtle lighting technology.
Our Gallery is now an explosion of our art and lighting with our portfolio featuring many designs and sizes to suit a range of rooms.
We have had the pleasure of showing our functioning art to visitors throughout the Summer season at the Castle and also dispatched our panels to new homes throughout the UK and Europe.
We have held open exhibition events at the Castle and other venues locally.
We have enjoyed introducing our work to Interior Designers, Architects and anyone with a keen eye for beautiful and unique art. We were particularly honoured to meet with the Cultural Attache at the Japanese Consulate in Edinburgh who was most encouraging about the aesthetic and authenticity of our work.
In October we were pleased to be able to reveal our sliding door system that incorporates our designs with the option to be illuminated.
In December we launched our latest project – Floor lamps – this is still a work in progress as we are also creating a smaller version – ideal as a table lamp.
During 2019, however, a key highlight for us was exhibiting at the ExCel in London at Grand Designs Live. Not only that but receiving a “Grand Designs Loves” award. In May 2020 we will be holding a two week exclusive exhibition in Edinburgh, watch this space for further news.
We look forward to all that the new
decade holds for us and wish you all a very happy new year!
